What this notice covers
This notice covers the Path & Light website and email launch waitlist. The iPhone app is in development. Its screenshots are previews; a separate, verified app privacy notice will be provided before public release. This website does not collect journal entries, prayer requests, AI conversations, or app reading history.
Information we process
- Waitlist: the email address you submit, the signup time, and the version of the launch-email consent you accepted. We ask for no name, denomination, or prayer information.
- Security: our server processes your IP address to create a salted, time-bounded hash for rate limiting. Our database stores that hash and a request counter separately from the waitlist. It does not store the raw IP with your signup.
- Hosting: Cloudflare processes network information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and protect the website. Its infrastructure processing is governed by its applicable terms and privacy policy.
- Messages to us: if you contact us, we receive the address and content you send. Please do not include private journal entries or other sensitive information.
How we use it
We use the waitlist to send one email announcing the app’s launch. Joining is optional and does not reserve access or create a paid subscription. We use consent for this email where applicable law requires it, and process limited security information to protect the service. We do not use the list to infer religious beliefs, build advertising profiles, sell personal information, or send unrelated promotions.
To leave before launch, email the contact above from the address you registered. You can also request correction or deletion. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed. Any commercial email will identify the sender, include a valid postal address, and provide an opt-out method.
Service providers and disclosures
The website and database are hosted on Cloudflare. Access to signup records is restricted to the operator and authorised service providers supporting this purpose. No email delivery service is connected yet and this website does not send email automatically. Before sending a launch email, we will identify the selected email provider in this notice. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to address abuse or protect legal rights.
Retention and security
Waitlist records are automatically removed once they are more than 12 months old. We will also remove the active list within 90 days after the launch email, or sooner on a verified deletion request. Security counters stop applying after their ten-minute window; scheduled cleanup runs every ten minutes, so expired database rows can remain until that cleanup succeeds. Cloudflare backup retention is separate from deletion of active records.
We use HTTPS, restricted database access, input validation, and request limits. No online service can promise absolute security. Salting and separating rate counters reduces linkage; it does not make the information inherently anonymous.
Cookies and tracking choices
Our website code does not add analytics, advertising pixels, cookies, browser storage, or fingerprinting. Hosting or security services may process technical information needed to serve and protect requests. We do not conduct cross-site advertising tracking, sell data, or share it for targeted advertising. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change that practice.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your information, withdraw consent, or complain to your local privacy regulator. Contact us using the address above. We may need to verify control of your email to protect it from unauthorised changes. We handle requests within applicable legal time limits.
Cloudflare may process information in countries other than yours. Before actively offering this service in additional jurisdictions, we will assess the required transfer safeguards and notices. This draft is not a claim that all jurisdiction-specific requirements have been met.
Age eligibility
This initial waitlist is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly solicit children’s email addresses. If you believe a child has registered, contact us so we can investigate and remove the record. An age statement alone cannot guarantee that children will not submit data.
Changes
